Equipment

Over the past 12 years Powerchip has developed the world's best development equipment and software. Powerchip uses individual, custom made software programs to suit different ECU (Engine Control Unit) types and manufacturers. Upgrade types vary between manufacturers. Powerchip has its own leading edge emulator enabling our chip tuners to make tuning changes on the fly, real time on the road, or on our dynamometer. Powerchip is the only company in the world to have access to this equipment making the tuning procedure far more precise and time efficient. Powerchip uses its custom developed AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) meters to ensure that the chip is not only allowing the car to run at it's optimum Air Fuel Ratio at both part and WOT (Wide Open Throttle).

Facilities

Powerchip has access to its own development track and dynamometer. Both are used extensively in the development of the Powerchip tuned program for each car. Powerchip's facilities allow us to reproduce real time driving experience on our track. Part throttle tuning, which is what we use most in day to day driving, is developed on the track from standing start to 150 miles per hour or as high as the vehicle will permit. Our dynamometer allows as to tune WOT at different load. The bulk of the testing, research and development is performed on the track. The reason why we spend as much time as possible on the track is that in our 12 years of experience we have found that the best results in chip tuning are made on the road, especially at part throttle. Driving the car on the dynamometer is not the same as driving it on the road.

Staff

Powerchip's program development team has over 50 years of chip tuning experience between them. All senior tuners have been tuning since the early 90's.

Testing Procedures

Each and every program developed by Powerchip has been put through Powerchip's quality assurance program. Over the past 12 years we have spent literally hundreds of thousands of man hours getting our products to a level that meets out testing program guidelines. Powerchip has never had a warranty claim and the product has never been found to cause a problem in the vehicle. Our testing program assures us that this will not occur.

Powerchip has vast tuning experience for all makes and models. However we have changed our focus to concentrate on European built motor cars at the present. Powerchip has tuning upgrades available for Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, Maseratti, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Saab, Volkswagen and Volvo. Powerchip has strong ties with dealerships of all makes and models and can have instant access to any vehicle we require for development.
